A Letter to Aiden

Dear Aiden,

What an amazing year 2008 was for mommy and daddy. You were born just about mid-year on a very special day, June 13th, your daddy and Grandma Barbie's birthday. You little face and wonderful personality is a joy to us every day. Mommy and Daddy will always remember the day you were born and I promise to tell you all about it whenever you want to know.
In 2008 you accomplished a LOT...you learned how to smile, to sit up unsupported, roll over, to run in your round-a-bout and to laugh. Your laugh is catching and everytime you crack up mommy, daddy and whomever else can hear you laughs too. You grew quite a lot in 2008 too. You were only 9lbs 3oz and 21inches long in June and by Dec 31st you were almost 21lbs and just about 30 inches long. The doctors say that your motor skills are that of a 9-month old baby and that you sit up like a 10-month old. Mommy and Daddy are very proud of you. You also grew 3 teeth in 2008. You have always been a GREAT sleeper with a few exceptions. You also babble a lot...in fact your Uncle Brian, daddy and mommy are trying to get you to say our names first. You kind of say Un...cle....but you also kind of say ma ma....It doesn't matter if ma ma only comes when you are crying. You make the funniest face and you are always smiling at the camera.
You went on your first vacation in 2008 to Newport Beach, you went to Disneyland for the first time, you celebrated 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas this year and you made those holidays especially memorable for everyone. Grandma She She and Grandad took you to your first bookstore this year and they say you LOVED it. Grandma Barbie, Brian and Brooke took you to the park for the first time and you really enjoyed the swing. Uncle Brian and Aunt Char Char took you on field trips, who knows where you went, but you always came back in one-piece. Grandpa Mando holds you when you get fussy and tries very hard to calm you down. Uncle Robert loves your pictures and tells mommy that she has too many clothes for you. Cousin Alexa thinks you are a punching bag but you have started defending yourself. Isabella loves to hold baby AJ and always wants to read to you. 2008 has been a GREAT year for you and mommy and daddy, but 2009 is going to be even better!!!!
Happy New Year, son, remember that mommy and daddy always love you. Our goal is to teach you to be strong, independent, and confidant.
Love you mommy
